Image Preparation: Edit Images Before Processing
Image Preparation is an image editor that runs entirely in your browser. Use it to rotate, crop, adjust brightness/contrast, and auto-straighten images before submitting them to any Nocarta automation.
How to Access
Two ways:
- Standalone page: Sidebar → Advanced → Image Prep
- While capturing a document: Tap any photo thumbnail to open the editor
Available Tools
| Tool | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Rotate | Rotate the image by any angle. Slider for fine adjustment, quick buttons for 90°/180°/270°. |
| Crop | Select a region to keep. Drag the corner handles to define the crop area. |
| Brightness | Adjust image brightness from dark (−100) to bright (+100). |
| Contrast | Adjust image contrast from flat (−100) to sharp (+100). |
| Auto-Straighten | Automatically straighten a tilted image with one click. |
| Reset | Revert all changes back to the original image. |
Standalone Mode
- Navigate to Advanced → Image Prep
- Drop an image file onto the upload area (or click to browse)
- The image appears on the canvas
- Use the tools to adjust the image
- Click Download to save the edited image to your computer
Supported formats: PNG, JPEG, TIFF, PDF (single page).
Quick Document Capture Integration
When capturing a document from a photo, you can edit each image before it's sent for reading:
- Take a photo or select from gallery
- Tap the thumbnail to open the editor
- Rotate, crop, or adjust as needed
- Click Save — the edited image replaces the original
- Continue with the capture flow
Tips
- Straighten before submitting. Even slight tilts reduce reading accuracy. Use Auto-Straighten for quick correction.
- Crop unnecessary margins. Removing blank borders helps focus on the actual content.
- Increase contrast for faded documents. Boosting contrast makes text more readable.
- Everything runs locally. No image data is uploaded to any server during editing — processing happens entirely in your browser.
