Plans, Billing & Usage
Everything about your plan lives in Settings → My Account, in three tabs: My Plan, Payment, and Invoices. A separate Usage page (sidebar → Advanced → Usage) shows what your account has consumed.
Your Plan
The My Plan tab shows your current plan by name. From there:
- Upgrade to Premium takes you to a secure checkout page to subscribe (monthly). After paying you'll see "Payment received — Thank you! Your account will be updated within a minute." The upgrade is applied automatically moments later.
- With an active subscription, the tab shows "Premium subscription active" and either "Renews on <date>" or, if you've cancelled, "Ends on <date>".
- Some plans are arranged directly with the Nocarta team; those show "Your plan is managed by the Nocarta team. Contact us for any change."
Managing Payment and Cancelling
The Payment tab has one button — Manage payment & subscription — which opens the secure Stripe customer portal, where you can update your card, cancel the subscription, download invoices and edit tax IDs. After cancelling, your plan stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, then your account returns to the Basic plan; you can re-subscribe anytime.
Invoices
The Invoices tab lists your payment history — number, date, total, status — with View (online) and PDF links for each. Credit purchases produce invoices too.
Where Your Card Data Lives
Nocarta never sees or stores your card. Checkout, card changes, and cancellation all happen on Stripe's own secure pages — Nocarta only learns that the payment succeeded. Payment receipts are emailed by Stripe.
Credits
Credits are fuel for the work Nocarta's own AI infrastructure does for you — reading document pages, assistant conversations, running prompts, reading regions, analyzing diagrams, transcribing recordings. Work served by your own configured AI provider doesn't consume credits.
- Your balance shows on My Plan under Credit packs: "Credits balance: N credits"
- Buy more with the Buy N credits buttons (small, medium, or large packs) — payment happens on the secure checkout page, and you'll get a confirmation email when the credits are added
The Usage Page
Sidebar → Advanced → Usage shows, for your account:
- AI token usage — the last 30 days and the current month, split by what consumed them (Nocarta AI, Automation Assistant), plus a day-by-day table
- Storage — total attachment size across templates, records and recordings; recordings are broken out separately, and space sitting in the recordings trash is listed as "freed after the retention window"
Plan limits and the credits balance are not on this page — limits appear where you hit them (below), and credits live on My Plan.
When You Hit a Plan Limit
Each plan includes limits — for example how many templates you can create, how many records a template can hold, how many files one bulk upload may contain, daily form sends, and the maximum recording size. When you reach one, the message names the limit and your account's value, e.g. "You've reached the limit of N templates." or "Recordings must be smaller than N MB.", together with a link: "Upgrade your plan to raise this limit →".
Some features are included only in certain plans — those appear in settings with a lock badge, "Not included in your plan", and a See plans link. Nothing is hidden: you can always read what a locked option does.
Troubleshooting
- "Purchases are currently unavailable. Contact us at [email protected] to upgrade your account." — new purchases are temporarily switched off. Your existing plan, subscription, and credits are unaffected.
- "A service encountered an error. Our team has been notified and is working on it." — the payment provider couldn't be reached; try again shortly.
- Paid, but the plan hasn't changed yet — the update arrives automatically within about a minute of payment; reload My Plan.
- Left the checkout page without paying — nothing is charged; you simply return to My Plan.
- Refunds — contact support through a support ticket.
